Sho'nuff Sesame Chicken

This sesame chicken recipe will sho'nuff put your favorite Chinese spot out of business! The sesame glaze is made from scratch…not out of a bottle…and super easy to make! Yessuh!



What you'll need:

For the sesame sauce:

  • ½ cup flour

  • ¼ cup sesame oil

  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • ½ cup vegetable broth


Heat skillet. Add peanut oil. In a small bowl, beat 2 eggs. In a large bowl, add diced chicken. Add Kinder’s, Slap Ya Mama, and smoked paprika, massage together. Pour beaten eggs into bowl with seasoned chicken. In a large zipper bag or bowl, add flour. Add several pieces of chicken to bag/bowl; cover chicken well with flour. Add chicken to oil; remove when chicken is golden brown and internal temperature is 165°F. Remove from oil, place on a baking pan with rack to drain and cool. Continue until all chicken pieces are cooked, drained, and cool. In a medium saucepan on medium high heat, stir in sesame oil, crushed garlic, soy sauce, and brown sugar. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with vegetable broth – pour into saucepan with sesame sauce, mix well. Add cooked chicken to sauce, coating each piece well.


And that’s it! Plate ‘em up with some fried or white rice, vegetables, and/or egg rolls.


**Note: You can use more or less seasoning and ingredients to your liking**
